1. Where are the idols made? Are they eco-friendly?
Yes, our Ganesha idols are 100% eco-friendly and handcrafted by skilled artisans in Pen, Maharashtra. Each idol is made using natural Shadu clay, ensuring they dissolve safely during Ganesh Visarjan. Immersion takes approximately 3–4 hours.
2. When do you start accepting bookings?
Book your viewings from July 10th, once our collection of idols has arrived, booking slots are open. If you’d like to reserve an idol before July 10th, please email us at irootscanada@gmail.com .
3. Will the Ganesha idol look exactly like the one on the website?
While we do our best to showcase accurate images, each eco-friendly murti is handmade, so slight variations in design, color, and detailing may occur. Larger idols may have more intricate detailing than smaller ones of the same design.
4. How are the idols packaged for pickup?
Each idol is securely packed in a sturdy box with protective filler. The idol is wrapped in a traditional mukh vastra to prevent dust damage. Instructions for safely unboxing are provided on the package.
5. Can I customize the idol (size, color, decorations)?
Currently, we are not offering customization for 2025. However, customization options will be available starting next year. For now, you can visit us in Pickering to view and choose from our ready-to-purchase collection.
6. How can I purchase a Ganesha idol from Indian Roots?
You can view idols through our website www.indianroots.ca.
We offer both in-person and virtual viewings in Pickering (Durham Region) and virtual viewings. During a virtual appointment, once you choose your idol and make the full payment, we’ll provide a booking link for pickup.
7. Do you offer delivery?
We can offer delivery at an additional nominal fee. Delivery will be made on August 16th and 17th. Details for delivery will be shared while making the booking.
8. What is your return, exchange, or refund policy?
Due to the fragile and spiritual nature of the idols, all sales are final. No returns, exchanges, or refunds are allowed. Each idol is carefully inspected and packed in the presence of the customer.
9. Do you have a physical location?
Yes! You can visit our location in Pickering, Ontario to browse and select idols. Pickup is also available in Whitby. Viewing appointments can be booked via our website.
10. What payment methods do you accept?

11. Are there any discounts available on the idols?
Our idols are already competitively priced to ensure accessibility for all devotees. As a result, we do not offer additional discounts.
12. What’s included with the Ganesha idol?
Every idol order includes:
• The selected eco-friendly Ganesha idol
• A traditional mukh vastra
• An arti book
• A janeu (sacred thread)
13. How can I book a Bappa idol?
Visit www.indianroots.ca to explore our collection. You can book an in-person or viewing appointment to visit us in Pickering and bring Bappa home.
